There is always something new and exciting happening at the KOB international office. For the staff, the month of June proved to be no exception.
On June 8th, most of the KOB staff and their families traveled to Pennsylvania to see Educational Consultant/Puppeteer Denise Horency and her beloved Kevin Kapp "tie the knot." The new Mr. and Mrs. Kapp, originally from the Pittsburgh area, had a good ol' fashioned Pennsylvania wedding complete with a barn reception at the Horency family farm. The day turned out to be beautiful, and a good time was had by all.
The end of June was also exciting, because we welcomed Janet Kena to the KOB staff. Janet made Columbia, Maryland her home six years ago when she moved from Tema, Ghana to be with her husband, who had come to the U.S. seven years earlier to begin school. An accomplished seamstress, Janet previously worked as a dressmaker in a privately-owned business, Native Designer, in West Africa. As a child, Janet learned the art of sewing from her mother. She later attended Better Fashion, a fashion and dressmaking school in West Africa. When she’s not creating masterpieces in the puppet workshop, Janet is busy with her two children. She also enjoys music, shopping, cooking and, of course, sewing.
