Program Revisions

Three Kids on the Block programs are in the final stages of the revision process. New curriculum guides for the programs on Asthma, Sexual Abuse and Vehicle Safety (originally titled Safety on Wheels: Automobile and Bicycle Safety) will soon be available to KOB associate troupes who have previously purchased the complete programs. Each program will have new script material that provides additional information about the topic, as well as selected original scripts that were rewritten to reflect current information.

...and a Supplement

KOB associate troupes who own the Alcohol, Tobacco and Other Drugs (ATOD) program will soon have the opportunity to add a new script and a new puppet character to their existing program. The program supplement contains a new script entitled "Partying Smart," biography information for the featured character Rob Watkins and questions and answers. The supplement focuses on Rob's drinking alcohol as a way to fit in with his friends and how he has now learned to make better choices in his life. Rob's story line will be familiar to those troupes who perform the ATOD program. Contact the headquarters office at 1-800-368-KIDS (5437) for additional information regarding the revisions and supplement.

Since its first days on the world wide web, The Kids on the Block, Inc. has continually added new and exciting items to its site. Current editions of Keeping Up With the Kids and the Supplemental Materials Catalogue can now be accessed with the click of a mouse.

The most recent addition is the "Featured Program." Each month, one KOB program is highlighted. Photos of puppet characters in the program and information about the program are included. Program objectives, background information about the topic, script summaries, biography information for the puppet characters and even success stories can be found. This information can be used by organizations to inform potential funders about the program, to add information in a grant proposal or to create promotional material for your performing troupe.
