William Morgan Knows About Being
Small in a Large World

THE KIDS ON THE
BLOCK PROGRAM ON
DWARFISM
Did
you know that:
- Dwarfism is a medical or genetic condition that usually results
in an adult height of 4'10" or shorter, among both men and women,
although in some cases a person with a dwarfing condition may be
slightly taller than that. (Little People of
America, November, 2005)
- Dwarfism is a condition that affects over 1.5 million people in
the U.S. alone, and there are over 100 different types of
dwarfism. Most Little People are born to families with no history
of dwarfism. (The Billy Barty
Foundation, 2004)
The Kids on the
Block Program on Dwarfism was designed to introduce children and adults
to achondroplasia, a common form of dwarfism as well as some the issues
William has encountered as a Little Person. This curriculum is an
educational tool designed
to promote awareness, sensitivity and
understanding of differences.
