Featuring: Brenda Dubrowski and Melody James
Brenda's mother, Debbie, and father, Brian, are divorced and Brenda
has had to adjust to a
variety of life changes. Beginning with her father's moving out of
their home, through her
parents' attempts at reestablishing a civil relationship where their
daughter is concerned, to her
new experiences in group counseling, Brenda explains how she copes with
a situation that affects
one out of every three American families. Developed in conjunction with
The Center for
Children of Divorce (Washington, D. C.), the package consists of large
hand-crafted puppets,
three scripts, follow-up activities and resources to form an extensive
curriculum on the topic of
divorce. The program features puppet character BRENDA DUBROWSKI, a well
adjusted, 11-
year-old girl who is honest and open about her feelings about her
parents' divorce. Script
material covers specific issues such as feeling "caught in the middle"
between her parents,
dividing her time between two homes and spending holidays and quality
time with both parents.
