The Kids on the Block Program on Cerebral Palsy was developed to promote sensitivity and acceptance of children who have physical differences and/or use wheelchairs.  The curriculum is an educational tool designed to:

• familiarize children with cerebral palsy
• nurture children's curiosity by encouraging them to talk with other children who may be different from them
• teach children that people with disabilities are more like them than different
• educate children about the importance of words and how they can make a person feel good or bad about her/himself
• teach children that having a disability does not mean "can't do," but rather "can do differently"
